OMG, something awesome to bring us out of our slumber. Here’s a video of Mike McCready doing a sweet version of Eddie Van Halen’s Eruption. The rendition isn’t too shabby for a live performance on a rainy, rainy night.
This solo was shredded out at Wrigley Field, Chicago on July 19, 2013 as Pearl Jam began a new tour to promote their newest album, LightningBolt.
At the gig PJ debuted two new songs to the world. The first was the title track from the album, the second being the slow but sure Future Days which featured album producer Brendon O’Brien playing along on keys. I’m picking the later will become a fan favourite in no time at all.
Here's the set list from that night:
Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town
Rain delays led to a second set that was shorter than intended:
All The Way (Eddie Vedder song) (with Ernie Banks)
Do the Evolution
Setting Forth (Eddie Vedder solo song)
Mind Your Manners
Lightning Bolt (debut performance)
Eruption (Van Halen cover)
PJ Set Encore:
Future Days (with Brendan O'Brien playing keyboard)
Mother (Pink Floyd cover from the Wall album)
Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns (Mother Love Bone cover)
Rockin' in the Free World (Neil Young cover)
