Neil Finn Seven Worlds Collide 2 Concert Set List, Auckland New Zealand

Neil Finn Seven Worlds Collide 2 Concert Set List, Auckland New Zealand

Neil Finn has rounded up a band of musos to play a week of gigs in Auckland. The band will play Neil’s songs and songs of the members of the other bands. Except some of those bands are bigger than Neil Finn – members of Radiohead and Wilco have come along for the Ride. If this wasn’t enough KT Tunstall, Liam Finn, Don McGlashan and Bic Runga are chipping in too - plus others from the previous 2001 effort, Lisa Germano and Seb Steinberg are hangin round!

The Band are recording a charity album for Oxfam

Here’s the list from the first night's gig at the Power Station in NZ.

What about that Woody Guthrie song Hoodoo Voodoo from Mermaid Avenue? They played that in the encore.

Yep, agree with anonymous, Hoodoo Voodoo (off the Wilco/Bragg album Mermaid Avenue) was definitely played... and very loud too!

They also played another Wilco song not mentioned here: "Outta Site (Outta Mind)' off the album 'Being There'. I thought it was in the main set but it may have been in one of the encores... my head is still fuzzy from the show. It wasn't unusual to have 5 guitarists, a bassist and two drummers... it was absolutely thumping.

Best of all - everyone seemed to be having such a great time.

Thanks - I'll amend!

They only planned for one encore, but obviously enjoyed it enough to do two. The second was the Wilco guys plus Neil. Outta Site (Outta Mind) was played first. The Wilco guys were walking off and Neil called them back for one more. A long group discussion ensued (presumably to figure out a song that Neil would be able to play along to). Hoodoo Voodoo was played, with Johhny Marr coming out too. During the song Jeff stood in the middle of the stage and pointed at Neil and Pat in turn to get them to trade off solos, with Johnny getting in on it at the end.
A bit of a rough performance of it, but great to see they were having fun.
This means that the encores should be the other way round.

Sorry just noticed another mistake. The main set was finished with She Will Have Her Way, and Weather with You. Then Fake Plastic Trees was the first song of the encore. So it should go:

Late Greats
Jesus Etc (Wilco)
California Stars
You Never Know
I’m a Wheel
Family Madness
Bodysnatchers (Radiohead)
Black Ribbon
She Will Have Her Way
Weather With You

Encore 1

Fake Plastic Trees (Radiohead)
There is a light (The Smiths)
Something In the Air (Thunderclap Newman)

Encore 2

Outta Site (Outta Mind)
Hoodoo Voodoo
