Guns and Roses Fan Arrested for leaking Chinese Democracy Album tracks

In a blatant effort to discredit good bloggers everywhere (or just good democracy in action – Ed?) a blogger suspected of streaming songs from the unreleased Guns N' Roses album Chinese Democracy on his website was arrested and appeared in court, where his bail was set at US$10,000 ($14,000).

FBI agents arrested 27-year-old Kevin Cogill on Wednesday morning on suspicion of violating federal copyright laws. Cogill appeared in court Wednesday afternoon.

Federal authorities say Cogill posted 9 unreleased Guns N' Roses songs on his website in June. The songs were later taken down from the site.

According to an arrest affidavit, Cogill admitted to FBI agents that he posted the GNR songs on his website. The judge did not impose any special internet use restrictions on Cogill, who's expected back in court Sept. 17.

"Chinese Democracy" is a hugely anticipated - and repeatedly delayed - new album by Guns N' Roses that is more than 10 years in the making.
